The Outsiders, Johnny murder Trial?

I am doing a mock trial in my school in which Johnny is still alive after killing Bob. I was chosen to be the prosecutor. Johnny is charged with First Degree murder (which I already know is wrong and have to use a bargaining plea to change) I need help with this case for I don't know much about murder trails. HELP
